Since day one my goal has been to create art that captures the true nature of each reptile that I draw.
I have been an artist for many years, and animals and the natural world have always been a huge part of my life and my subject matter.
I love this beautiful planet and the many species that inhabit it and have always been fascinated with the unusual, the mysterious and the sometimes misunderstood.
I have been pulled towards wanting to learn more about reptiles and their habitats. I started keeping my own and they became the inspiration for my art.
I never fail to be amazed by the infinate number of species, the details within their scales, their personalities and their likeness to tiny dinosaurs.
My aim is to capture this wonder in every reptile that I draw, creating art that inspires, for reptile lovers everywhere to enjoy as much as I do.
HOW I CREATE MY ART
All my art is drawn by hand using high quality colour pencils.
I work on a combination of artists paper or drafting film using additional effects like pencil blending.
I draw from photographs that I have taken myself or from photography with full permission to be used as a reference.
I create extra interest on some of my drawings by overlaying scans of my original work with additional text or digital elements to create informational or fun images.
MY VALUES
Doing Right By The Environment
I make every effort to source print materials and packaging that is sustainable. A4 prints are printed on recycled paper using biomass inks. Small prints and cards are printed on sustainable board. Where possible, prints and cards are packaged in compostable cello bags. Where an eco friendly product is not available, I do my utmost to keep looking out for one.
Working with small print companies
My prints are cards are printed by UK printing businesses in Bristol and Leeds with a personal touch and great environmental credentials.
